The beating heart of our company, in the beating heart of India

Ever since the beginning, Sol Jewels has been enamored with northern India. Since my first trip to India, 25 years ago, I traveled extensively through this region. in the beginning I was backpacking through India, buying beads and findings for my handcrafted (by me) jewelry business back home. Ever since the shift in our business model, about 15 years ago, I started looking for an ethical and fair group of artisan to work with. Let's be honest: in India, especially in the handcrafted jewelry line, child labor and unhealthy working conditions are an everyday normalcy. 

I chose to work with the artisans I work with because their producer group is not only Fair Trade Certified, but they are amazing people. A group of artisans working together, in a happy, healthy, and safe environment being paid fair wages.
